It was an unscheduled stop for an unusual reason: a baby boy was born on a train from Paris bound for Germany.
The train had to stop at Lorraine TGV station for a good hour, the newspaper “Le Républicain Lorrain” reported on Sunday. Apparently, the baby reported earlier than expected and “surprised” the mother on the long train journey. By the time the train reached the next larger town, it was already too late to transport her to the clinic – the birth had to take place on the train.
Fortunately, everything went without major complications. The fire brigade brought the mother and child to the Metz-Nancy hospital immediately after the birth. It is said that both are doing well.
At first it was not known what nationality the baby has: His birth on the train between France and Germany happened to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Franco-German friendship treaty. In any case, the little boy was given a suitable name: Félix – the happy one.
