According to Israeli media reports, “Fauda” star Idan Amedi (35) is recovering from an injury he apparently suffered while on duty in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli singer and actor was therefore seriously wounded in fighting.
Amedi, who plays the role of Sagi Tzur in the popular Israeli Netflix series “Fauda,” joined his Combat Engineering Corps unit as a reservist following the Hamas terror attack in October. He also reported on his mission on Instagram.
The Times of Israel newspaper writes that he was now injured and taken to the Sheba Medical Center in Israel. He is said to have undergone surgery there and is receiving further treatment. According to the report, the Israeli actor’s father told the news site Walla that there was no danger to his life.
The “Fauda” creators Lior Raz (52) and Avi Issacharoff (51) spoke out in a post on X (formerly Twitter). There they explained that Idan Amedi was “a real hero” who, from the first day of the war, decided to “put everything aside and go to fight. First in the north and then in the south. We pray for his speedy recovery and are safe “that he will be fine.”
Idan Amedi became known as a singer in Israel in 2010. The singer-songwriter has released several albums and enjoyed success with his music. From 2017 he was in front of the camera for the Netflix production “Fauda”. He has been playing the character of Sagi since season two. The series about a special unit of the Israel Defense Forces is also internationally successful. There are currently four seasons available to watch on Netflix.
Amedi has been married since 2018 and is reportedly a father of two. His children are said to have been born in 2019 and 2023.
