It is one of the most popular formats on RTL: “I am a star – get me out of here”. After 19 years, the jungle camp has long since achieved cult status. Reason enough that the station wants to treat its viewers to an extra dose of jungle feeling for their 20th birthday next year.

As the news service “DWDL” reports, there will be a jungle camp all-stars format in the summer of 2024. The inquiries from celebrities are said to be already in full swing. The format is scheduled to be broadcast in late summer 2024. According to “DWDL”, the new episodes will first be available for streaming on RTL, then they will be broadcast on TV.

RTL is currently increasingly relying on tried and tested programs. Dieter Bohlen was brought back to “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” because many viewers had left with him, and the “super talent” is being reanimated. But there are also new entertainment formats such as the reality crime show “The Traitors – Trust Nobody!”, also hosted by Sonja Zietlow, which starts on RTL on September 20th. An international successful concept in which 16 celebrity candidates will compete against each other. It is a game of betrayal, trust and blinding in the hope of winning a silver treasure worth 50,000 euros.

However, the summer format of the jungle cult show will not take place in Australia as usual in January and will not be broadcast live, like the original format. It is planned to film and pre-produce the All-Stars jungle camp in South Africa.

The station apparently got the inspiration for the new format from the British. The British jungle camp and the broadcaster ITV broadcast an all-stars format with former participants of “I’m a celebrity… get me out of here” in the spring.

The German celebrities advanced into the Australian jungle for the first time on January 9, 2004. They should do this again regularly in January 2024. However, the cast is not yet known.
