Entertainer Thomas Hermanns (59) stops after 30 years as moderator of the “Quatsch Comedy Club”. “I will say goodbye to the stage, go to the control room and devote myself more to the tasks as producer and director of the live clubs and also to new topics,” Hermanns said in a statement.

The anniversary show will be recorded in Berlin on December 12 and later broadcast on ProSieben. Comedians such as Chris Tall, Atze Schröder, Tahnee and Oliver Pocher will be guests.

Hermanns, who will be 60 next spring, imported the concept of a stand-up stage show from the US 30 years ago, beginning in Hamburg and later in Berlin. There are now venues in Munich, Stuttgart and Mönchengladbach.

Many well-known comedians, including Carolin Kebekus, Dieter Nuhr and Ilka Bessin, had their first appearances in the shows, which were later also broadcast on television.
