In an interview, Herbert Grönemeyer (66) spoke out against seeing the East as a problem for Germany. “The East Germans are not our problem children, you don’t have to put a stamp on them,” said the musician in the “Sächsische Zeitung”.
He described the office of the Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Europe as “an impudence” and spoke out in favor of more public spirit. “What makes us special? What do we want to build and create together for our common good?” In his opinion, the questions at stake should be. “We are one country, 16 federal states in Europe, done”.
On his 16th studio album “Das ist los” Grönemeyer also deals with the state of our society after the pandemic and in the midst of war and crises. He announced the album, which was released a week ago, on Instagram with the words: “The music should get us into action, make us thoughtful and confident, but also wash our heads and just be fun.”
