Today the whole world knows Heidi Klum (50). But the model, who was born in Bergisch Gladbach, also started small. On Instagram she shows her more than 11.6 million followers the pictures with which she started her great career.
Klum has released a series of simple shots in which she can be seen in different swimsuits. Sometimes she sits on a chair and looks seriously towards the camera, sometimes you can see a big laugh. Her mother brought her “a box with lots of old photos from the basement,” she writes.
In the attached comment, the face of the casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model”, which has been successful for many years, also explains: “Similar to how I look at photos and videos of models for GNTM, these photos were my application photos for my model competition in 1992.”
Klum originally became known through the “Model ’92” casting format. She was then crowned the winner in a TV show hosted by Thomas Gottschalk (73). The competition was organized by the producer Christian Seidel. “The moderator Gottschalk managed the project with his show. Without him, there would probably be no Heidi Klum and no casting show on ProSieben today,” Seidel told the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” in 2010.
And the next Klum generation has long been in the starting blocks. While model mom Heidi lives in Los Angeles with her three younger children and husband Tom Kaulitz (34), her eldest daughter Leni Klum (19) not only studies interior design in New York. Leni has also been modeling for a few years. Mother and daughter have already been the faces of campaigns for the Intimissimi label, which specializes in lingerie, on several occasions.
