“Game of Thrones” star Hafthor Julius Björnsson (34) and his wife Kelsey Henson (33) mourn their daughter. As the couple announced in an emotional Instagram post, Henson suffered a stillbirth at 21 weeks of pregnancy.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the birth of our daughter Grace Morgan Hafthorsdottir, born November 8th at 21 1/2 weeks’ gestation,” reads a series of photos showing the couple in the hospital with their deceased child . “After a noticeable decrease in movements, we discovered that her heart was no longer beating.”
“Words cannot describe how much this loss hurts us and how happy we are to be able to spend time with our daughter,” it continued. “She’s beautiful, with blonde eyelashes and eyebrows and a little smile for mom and dad.”
“The love we feel for her is overwhelming. The sadness we feel will always be with us, but so will the love. All our hopes and dreams for her have been taken away from us, but I know that I am with her again “Her spirit lives on through us and her siblings,” the couple continued, asking fans to “respect our privacy at this time as we mourn this unbearable loss.”
Björnsson and Henson announced their new pregnancy via Instagram just three weeks ago, on October 19th, when Henson was just in the 19th week of pregnancy. The Icelandic native and the Canadian have been a couple since 2017 and tied the knot in August 2018. In September 2020 they became parents to a son. Björnsson has another daughter from a previous relationship.
