“Game of Thrones” star Gwendoline Christie (44) takes on a new series role in “Severance”. This is reported, among other things, by “The Hollywood Reporter”. The actress confirmed the news of her new job on Instagram. “I am incredibly excited to be part of my favorite TV show, directed by the great Ben Stiller,” she wrote.
Joining Christie in the cast of the Apple TV series are Bob Balaban (77), Robby Benson (66), John Noble (74), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (49), Alia Shawkat (33), Merritt Wever (42) and Stefano Carannante reinforce the second season. “We are extremely excited to be back on set for the exciting second chapter of ‘Severance,'” director and executive producer Ben Stiller, 56, said in a statement. “We’ve been told that people are enjoying the show and we couldn’t be happier.”
The series, from creator Dan Erickson (38), received 14 Emmy nominations for its first season, including a nomination for best drama series. The format is about former college professor Mark (Adam Scott, 49), who starts working for a company in New York and their Severance program, which separates employees’ memories of their work from memories of their private lives, more and more begins to question.
