For a video shoot, the candidates slip into the role of Marilyn Monroe and embody the legendary actress in the film “Blondes Prefer”. During dance training, they learn the choreography for their later performance. But not only the right steps are required, the models should also move their lips convincingly to the song “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”. When it comes to performing in front of the camera, new challenges arise: the candidates have to master a staircase and perform spontaneously with the Elevator Boys. The five guys from near Frankfurt became social media stars with Tik-Tok videos. Lara struggles the most with the task. “I have no dance experience at all. I’m quite overwhelmed when it comes to teaching,” says the 19-year-old. Somajia also has problems and is disappointed. “Dancing is my passion, and then being the worst, that’s tough,” she admits.
Candidate Cassy just can’t find the right shoe for her performance. She tries on different sizes several times, but none of the models want to fit. “Dancing in loose shoes is not possible. I’ve never had such a shoe drama. I stood in the fitting for five hours. Everyone was totally annoyed by me,” says the 23-year-old. Despite the shoe debacle, Cassy delivered a successful Marilyn Monroe performance and received the verdict from Heidi Klum: “Right, really good.”
There have never been so many jurors for a decision: In addition to the five Elevator Boys, designer Christian Cowan sits next to Heidi Klum. The candidates present his clothes on the catwalk. This time it is equipped with flashing LED lights to show the models the way. A task that not even Heidi Klum masters flawlessly. Her excuse is: “I have shoe size 41. I don’t even fit on such a field.” Candidate Selma proves that it is possible: she is the only one who manages the catwalk without errors. The Elevator Boys are enthusiastic about the candidate Cassy: “You want to look at them, we are pleasantly surprised.”
Lara is sent home by Heidi Klum. “You get the feeling that you really don’t enjoy being in the limelight. Then I ask myself whether a job in the spotlight is the right one for you,” the jury chief explains her decision. Lara is pretty upset about being kicked out. “I wanted it so badly. It’s been my dream since I was a little girl,” the Austrian sobbs.
