In just under two weeks things will get off to a turbulent start, as the successor to one of the best apocalyptic games ever is getting a new edition. “The Last of Us Part II Remastered” will be released exclusively for PS5 on January 19th. Not only are technical improvements on board, but also the new roguelike survival mode “No Return”. Although the remastered version has so far only been officially confirmed for PS5, PC gamers should hope that they can also enjoy it. Finally, Sony finally released the first part for the PC in 2023.

The day before, gamers can play “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” – from January 18th on Amazon Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. In the action role-playing game “Skull and Bones”, up to three players try to conquer the oceans together, build their empire and become the most notorious pirates in the open game world. On January 26th, a long-running fighting game series that has been around since the 1990s returns with its latest entry. “Tekken 8” will then be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will not be finished yet, but will gradually receive several major updates. “Hades II” will later also be released for consoles.

“Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II” is also scheduled to be released in 2024. The sequel to “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” will continue the story of the Celtic warrior Senua, who is plagued by disturbing psychosis. The first part won five BAFTA Games Awards in 2018, including for the performance of the German actress Melina Juergens, who played the warrior.
