Festival summer is back. Not only the big all-round festivals for rock and pop fans, but also the events for scene-goers will take place again in 2023. Metal, electronic, hip-hop or reggae fans can look forward to these events.

From hardcore to metalcore, from black metal to death metal, from pop-punk to crossover: fans of these genres will get their money’s worth at Full Force. Ferropolis, the “City of Iron” near Gräfenhainichen in Saxony-Anhalt, has hosted the festival since 2017. These bands will be on stage, among others:

Electric Callboy, Gojira, Papa Roach, Meshuggah, Bloodbath, H2O, Nova Twins, The Halo Effect, Touched Love or Sold.

“What began in 1998 in a Chemnitz youth club wrote rap history”: The Splash! Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The Chemnitz hip-hop duo Tefla

Kendrick Lamar, Lil Uzi Vert, Ufo361, Trettmann, badmómzjay, Haftbefehl, CÉLINE oder Kitty Kat.

In 2023 the Ruhrpott Rodeo will take place again, which is considered the largest punk festival in Germany. The outdoor area at the Schwarze Heide airfield in Hünxe near Bottrop is home to these bands and artists this year:

SKA-P, Sondaschule, WIZO, Sleaford Mods, Swiss and the others, Dwarves and Turbobier.

This year there will also be a tour in addition to the normal festival: in six cities (3x outdoor and 3x indoor), including Berlin, Hanover and Würzburg, the rodeo will take place throughout June with acts such as WIZO, Third Choice, Betontod, ZSK, Slime and Bone Factory Spread the rodeo feeling.

At the beginning of July it will be colorful and wild again: The Summerjam Festival invites its festival visitors to the Fühlinger See in the north of Cologne. Reggae, dancehall and hip-hop fans can look forward to the following acts, among others:

Peter Fox, Charly Black, Anthony B, Mono

Hard guitar riffs will soon be heard again at the Balingen exhibition center: metal, hard rock and rock fans will meet at the Bang Your Head. Included are among others:

Helloween, Saxon, D-A-D, Dirkschneider, Kissin’ Dynamite, Primordial, Molly Hatchet, Unleashed, Tankard and Rage.

This event makes the hearts of all hippies beat faster. The music and literature festival in Breitenbach am Herzberg offers pop and rock music. Among other things, these musicians offer Love

Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, Beth Hart, Jon Anderson

One of the biggest metal festivals in the world takes place at the beginning of August: The W:O:A invites you to headbang in Schleswig-Holstein again in 2023. The 32nd Wacken Open Air will take place from August 2nd to August 5th, 2023 for the first time over four days. All tickets for this year’s festival were sold out in just five hours. Lucky ticket holders can look forward to these acts:

Iron Maiden, Helloween, Dropkick Murphys, Biohazard oder Megadeth.

Indie, rock, pop, folk: the Haldern Pop Festival has a lot to offer. In Rees-Haldern on the Dutch border, the 40th edition from 3rd to 5th August 2023 will feature:

Bear’s Den, Glen Hansard, Tom Odell and The Nerves.

Nature One is one of the biggest European electronic music festivals. In 2023 it will traditionally take place from August 4th to 6th at the former Pydna missile base in the Hunsrück. Visitors can look forward to around 350 DJs and 22 floors. There are performances by:

Claptone, Aka Aka, All Colors, Dominik Eulberg and Monkey Safari.

Anyone who likes to shake their hips to electro music will also get their money’s worth at the SonneMondStars with around 40,000 visitors expected. Big names of the scene are expected from August 11th to 13th for the 25th festival anniversary near Saalburg-Ebersdorf in Thuringia, among others:

Major Lazer, Armin van Buuren, Paul Kalbrenner, All Colors, Turmstrasse collective and Lexy

Metal and rock lovers meet near Dinkelsbühl in mid-August for the Summer Breeze with more than 120 acts. Fans of the scene can look forward to:

Powerwolf, Megadeth, In Extremo, In Flames and Hammerfall.
