Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) have been living in the USA since 2020, but until a few months ago Frogmore Cottage was still the couple’s official home when they were in Great Britain. However, this chapter now seems to be officially closed. As “ITV News” reports, among other things, the two have now finally moved out.
According to a report by British tabloid The Sun, Harry and Meghan are said to have returned the keys to their former English home near Windsor Castle. The last belongings of the two on site were also shipped to California, where they live with their children Archie (4) and Lilibet (2). Sir Michael Stevens (65), head of royal accounting, has therefore confirmed “that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have left Frogmore Cottage”.
A spokesman for Harry and Meghan confirmed in early March that the royal couple had been asked to cede their previous home in the UK. A corresponding statement was made by Royal expert Omid Scobie, among others.
As the “Times” wrote shortly afterwards, it was apparently “okay” for Prince Harry and his wife to move out, even if the house was a gift from the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) and she was the equivalent of 2, Paid 7 million euros for renovations. The request to move out did not leave her particularly “stunned”. The two were said to have been of the opinion that they would simply move out if they had to.
According to media reports, Harry’s father, King Charles III. (74), started the process a few days after the publication of Prince Harry’s controversial memoir “Spare”. Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royal family is considered broken. In a Netflix documentary, TV interviews and the prince’s autobiography, the two had previously made serious allegations against the royals.
