As with so many millennials, “Friends” is also a must-watch for Prince Harry. In his autobiography “Reserve” (English “Spare”), the ex-royal describes in several places how he spent his evenings with the cult sitcom.

In January 2016, the 38-year-old met one of the TV icons in real life: Courteney Cox, who plays Monica Geller in “Friends”. The prince even stayed at the actress’s mansion because she was a good friend of a pal.

“As a ‘Friends’ fanatic, I found the idea of sleeping at Monica’s place extremely enticing,” he writes in his book. Later that evening, he and his friends grabbed “Magic Mushroom Chocolates” they found in the fridge.

Now Cox himself has commented on the royal visit. Speaking to Variety, she said: “He stayed here for a few days – maybe two or three. He’s a really nice guy.” She hasn’t read Harry’s book herself.

“I want to hear it though, because I’ve heard it’s very entertaining. But yeah, word got around,” she said. However, the actress did not want to comment on the mushrooms that the prince and his friends allegedly found in their house. “I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely didn’t give them out,” she revealed.

The encounter was apparently so memorable for Prince Harry that he dedicated several pages of his book to Cox. “I was still confused because… she was Monica. And I was a Chandler. I wondered if I’d ever have the courage to tell her. Was there enough tequila in California to make me so brave to do?” he writes in “Reserve”.
