Filming on the new HBO miniseries “The Palace” by and with Kate Winslet (47) has begun. According to the press release, the first station of production is Austria’s capital, Vienna. Since the series is supposed to be about the unrest behind the palace walls of a modern European regime, the choice of location is not surprising. The city is known for its architectural buildings from the Baroque period. According to the Austrian “Kurier”, the famous Schönbrunn Palace should also be one of the scenes.

Fans can also get a first glimpse of Winslet’s role on Instagram, among other things. You can see the Briton dressed up in a dark blue suit with golden decorations, her blonde hair is styled in a smooth updo. Winslet sits gravely at a polished wooden table set in an impressive castle hall.

According to the announcement, after the shooting in Vienna it should continue in England. Directed by Stephen Frears (81) and Jessica Hobbs (56). In addition to Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts (45), Guillaume Gallienne (50), Andrea Riseborough (41), Martha Plimpton (52) and Hugh Grant (62) can be seen in “The Palace”. Kate Winslet also serves as executive producer.

For the Briton, it is the fourth collaboration with HBO as part of a miniseries: “Mildred Pierce” was released in 2011, and she received the Emmy for “Best Actress” in 2021 for “The Mare of Easttown”. Another HBO limited series starring Winslet is currently in the works with the novel adaptation “Trust.”
