To celebrate the day, Prince William (40) and Princess Kate (41) have published another portrait of their daughter Charlotte (8). The princess is celebrating her eighth birthday today, May 2nd. With the photograph taken by photographer Millie Pilkington, who also shared the photo on her Instagram account, the royals thank them for the many congratulations that have reached the royal family.
In the picture, Princess Charlotte can be seen in a spring meadow – but not alone. The Royal daughter beams at the camera as she hugs family dog Orla. The name of the Cocker Spaniel lady is said to be of Celtic origin and supposedly translates to “golden princess”. The followers repeatedly noted in the comments how similar Charlotte sees Papa William in particular.
Meanwhile, Pilkington not only wishes Princess Charlotte a happy birthday. She also thanks for being asked to photograph Prince William and Princess Kate’s daughter. She feels honored and blessed.
Kate and William had already shared a photo of their daughter taken by Kate on their account on Tuesday night. It said: “We wish Princess Charlotte a happy birthday!” Charlotte is the second child of the heir to the British throne. She has an older brother, Prince George (9), and a younger one, Prince Louis (5). William and Kate have been married since April 2011.
