Heavy loss for Ronan Keating: As the British online portal “The Sun” reports, the musician’s older brother died in a tragic car accident. According to the report, Keating “dropped everything” to travel to Ireland to support his family.
Ciaran Keating and his wife Annmarie were on their way to their son Ruairi’s football game when the accident happened. The accident happened on Saturday afternoon at a location in Swinford, County Mayo, which is known as an accident black spot. While the father of three suffered fatal injuries in a collision with another car, his wife was seriously injured but survived. The driver of the other vehicle also survived the accident.
Friends of Ronan Keating told The Sun that the musician was “absolutely devastated” by the death of his brother, but he was “trying to stay strong for the sake of his family”. The tragic accident hit the family like a “cruel bolt from the blue”.
As “Daily Mail” reports, the tragedy occurred just a few days before soccer professional Ruairi’s 28th birthday. His club, Cork City FC, expressed their sympathy for the tragic loss of their Ruairis in a statement: “Everyone is deeply saddened by the death of Ciaran Keating. “We extend our deepest sympathy to Ruairi and the entire Keating family at this extremely difficult time. May he rest in peace.”
