A library in New York celebrates the work of US rapper Jay-Z (53) with song lyrics on the outside wall and a large exhibition inside. “As one of Brooklyn’s most influential people, Jay-Z shaped and reinvented hip-hop, music and culture,” the Brooklyn Public Library said. Photos, art and memorabilia from the artist’s archives, among other things, can be seen in the “The Book of Hov” show throughout the summer.
Born in 1969 in Brooklyn, New York, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, had become successful around the world with songs like “Empire State of Mind” or “Crazy in Love”. He has been married to singer Beyoncé since 2008 and the couple have three children.
