At the beginning of 2015, the British actor and presenter James Corden (44) took over the moderation of the CBS format “The Late Late Show” from his predecessor Craig Ferguson (60). He quickly made his own thing out of the show, including including the hugely popular “Carpool Karaoke” as part of the show. After eight entertaining years, the popular talk show host is finally leaving the format. Today, April 27th, the last episode will be broadcast on the US TV channel CBS. Superstars like Harry Styles (29) and Will Ferrell (55) will stop by as guests of his last show.

In an interview with “The Sun” he spoke about his plans for the future. There he said: “There is a lot of uncertainty at the moment. It just feels very strange – knowing that everything will change, but trying to hold on to the fact that change is fundamentally a good thing.”

Of course, saying goodbye is very difficult for him, but the strongest feeling is gratitude: “I don’t know what I did to earn so many wonderful memories. Even if today’s show is my last day at work, I’ve had an incredible time .”

For the near future he has only planned to return to Great Britain, together with his wife Julia Carey (44) and their three children. He also urgently needs a break from the hype of the past few years. “I think I need to spend a little time letting that all go,” he said. “It’s been a loud eight years and now I’m going to try and focus on getting some rest.”

At the same time, he hinted that his worldwide fanbase wouldn’t have to do without him in the future. He knows exactly what he owes his fans and does not take the success of his show for granted.

He will definitely come up with something new for her: “I hope I’ll come up with another idea that means something to people.”
