Will Michelle (51) end her pop career soon? She wants to release a final album next year and is also talking about a farewell tour.

“I swam through a shark tank for thirty years, mostly without a lifebelt. Now I’ve reached a point where I don’t have the strength to continue,” the singer tells the “Bild” newspaper. Michelle “no longer wants to stay in this toxic environment”: “Neither as an artist Michelle nor as Tanja.” The singer, whose real name is Tanja Hewer, also says: “It’s enough. I’m quitting!”

But Michelle becomes even clearer in the conversation. Apparently it’s going to be over quite soon: “I’m going to give my fans another album as a farewell next year. My life’s work. Every song on it is absolutely personal. And I’m hoping for a farewell tour.” It is currently not clear when exactly this farewell will take place.

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 21st, Michelle will be joining “Schlagerbooom 2023 – Everything sparkles! Everything glitters!” on. She will then present her new song “That’s it for me,” reports “Bild”. “I can’t do it anymore. I’m clearing the stage. With my eyes raised, say: That’s it for me,” she sings, among other things.

One person who stands by her side is her boyfriend Eric Philippi. “Eric is my husband. He gives me stability in the sense that I have finally found in him what I have been looking for all my life,” Michelle tells the daily newspaper. In the summer she confirmed the relationship to presenter Florian Silbereisen (42) at “Schlagerbooom Open Air – The Stadium Show in Austria”. “That’s true and I’m the happiest man and woman in the whole world,” she said at the time.

It is quite possible that Silbereisen, who also moderates the “Schlagerbooom 2023”, will ask the singer on Saturday what exactly should happen next. The show can be seen from 8:15 p.m. on the first.
