The ZDF “Dream Ship” is sailing towards Thailand on Easter Sunday: This time the famous cruise ship is stopping on the island of Phuket – and it will be dramatic. The team around Captain Max Prager (Florian Silbereisen) and Co. is dealing with a criminal case on board. The focus is on the popular hotel manager Hanna Liebhold, who falls victim to a poison attack.

But don’t worry: As usual, the light crime thriller flair is accompanied by some sappy storylines relating to the love and family lives of the cruise guests. In addition to well-known acting names such as Simone Thomalla and Andreas Schmidt-Schaller, viewers can expect the entertainer Riccardo Simonetti as a guest star on this Easter “dream ship”. He gets to play the elephant veterinarian Benjamin Suresh.

At the “Kölner Treff” Simonetti recently reported on the experience: “The ‘Dream Ship’ is just such an institution that has been around for so long and being a part of it felt really cool,” he enthused. He received coaching for his role and learned how to approach the elephants correctly – “so that you can move very confidently between these large animals,” he explained.

Star chef Nelson Müller will also be there again as an amateur actor. Recently there was criticism: actors like Helmut Zierl and Katerina Jacob publicly complained that influencers and celebrities are regularly seen on the “Dream Ship” instead of trained actors. This has always been a tradition for the ZDF broadcast. For years, entertainer Harald Schmidt has repeatedly appeared in front of the camera in the role of cruise director Schifferle. The spectrum of prominent guest stars in “Dream Ship” ranges from Udo Jürgens to Helene Fischer to Joko Winterscheidt. Influencers like Caro Daur and Cathy Hummels were also allowed on board.

“The Dream Ship: Phuket”  can be seen in the media library and will be shown on ZDF on Easter Sunday at 8:15 p.m
