Prince William’s (41) Environment Prize has announced which continent the fourth Earthshot Awards ceremony will take place in November: Cape Town, South Africa. The organization announced this on social media on Friday.
The award ceremony took place for the first time in London in 2021 and then in Boston in December 2022. Earthshot is scheduled to run for a total of ten years and will award prizes worth more than $50 million during this time.
Due to the current circumstances, it is still unclear whether Prince William and Princess Kate will come to the fourth event in November. Any international travel plans will be announced in due course, a source told People.
Prince William and his wife attended the first two ceremonies together. However, last year Kate stayed at home to support her son Prince George, 10, with his school exams. Kate is currently recovering from her abdominal surgery.
Prince William returned to the public eye earlier this week after taking time off to support Princess Kate in her recovery. On Wednesday, William resumed his duties, first by presenting more than 50 honors at Windsor Castle and in the evening by attending a gala dinner.
He had taken a short break in the previous weeks to look after his wife and their children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5).
Now even more official tasks await Prince William: On February 5th, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III. (75) “a form of cancer” was diagnosed during a prostate procedure. The heir to the throne is expected to take on even more appointments as King Charles III. On the advice of his doctors, he should not attend any public appointments during his ongoing treatment.
