Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (51) has returned to his roots: The 51-year-old was back in the wrestling ring. At “WWE Smackdown” in Denver, the multiple WWE champion was loudly celebrated by the audience in the Ball Arena for his surprise appearance, according to US media reports.
There, “The Rock” met, among others, ex-football player and current commentator and wrestler Pat McAfee (36) as well as WWE star Austin Theory (26), who, according to reports, attacked Johnson not only verbally. “The Rock” then apparently gave a small demonstration of his wrestling skills, including a spinebuster and a “people’s elbow”.
While “The Rock” and Pat McAfee talked about their appearance, Dwayne Johnson also met John Cena (46) backstage: “Welcome home,” Cena, who also turned wrestler into actor, greeted the returnee.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has not appeared in the wrestling ring since October 2019. At that time he was featured on the “Smackdown” 20th anniversary show.
