Duchess Meghan (41) revealed the recipe for her favorite cake. In the cookbook The World Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope, Meghan describes how to make the perfect lemon and olive oil cake.
In addition to Meghan, former First Lady Michelle Obama (59) also contributes a favorite recipe: breakfast tacos. Star chefs like Guy Fieri (55), Marcus Samuelsson (52), Brooke Williamson (44) and Emeril Lagasse (63) also share step-by-step instructions for special dishes in the book.
The book by chef José André (53) is a charity cookbook that uses its proceeds to fund World Central Kitchen’s disaster relief efforts. The non-profit organization is dedicated to providing meals after natural disasters.
The book also describes dishes that have already been used. Among other things, the flatbread that the organization distributed after the explosion disaster in Beirut in 2020, the borsch soup that they cooked for families in Ukraine at the beginning of the Russian invasion, or the chicken chili verde that they made for the firefighters in California.
The Duchess is proud to have contributed a recipe to the project, the statement said. Meghan’s lemon cake had also been used elsewhere: In March 2021, she sent it to a group of cooks who, together with the World Central Kitchen, were taking care of the needy during the pandemic. Meghan reportedly baked the cake herself, using lemons from her garden.
