The year 2023 apparently has another celebrity marriage on its conscience. As reported by the US site “Page Six”, among others, and based on official court documents, Joshua Jackson’s (45) wife Jodie Turner-Smith (37) has filed for divorce. The usual “irreconcilable differences” were given as the reason for the separation from the “Dawson’s Creek” star.
Turner-Smith and Jackson apparently want to avoid an unpleasant mudslinging in court, as has recently been the case with other stars. The 37-year-old asked for shared custody of their daughter Juno (3). It is also planned that mutual maintenance claims will be waived – “TMZ” reports that there is no prenuptial agreement between the two.
The British actress (“White Noise”) and the Canadian series and film star got married in December 2019. They had only met and fallen in love around a year earlier and were engaged within a few months. The date of separation has now been given as September 13th of this year – as a result, they will no longer be able to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the marriage in around three months.
In recent weeks and months there have been an increasing number of surprising star separations. Most recently, Hugh Jackman (54) and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness (67) shocked everyone with their love break-up after 27 years of marriage.
Meanwhile, in May 2023, Kevin Costner (68) and his wife Christine Baumgartner (49) announced that they were divorcing after 18 years. A protracted court battle followed, which was only recently concluded. Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon’s (47) second marriage lasted almost twelve years. In March 2023, she and her spouse Jim Toth (53) announced that they were going their separate ways after more than a decade together.
