A security guard for rapper Drake was shot outside his villa in Toronto, Canada. Police confirmed the shots were fired during the night.
The incident occurred around 2am outside the gate of the property where the security guard was positioned. Nothing happened to Drake (37) himself – it also remained unclear whether he was even at home at the time of the crime.
The perpetrators fled in a vehicle after the crime and are currently being sought by the police. A description of the suspects has not been released, but the incident was captured on video. The background initially remained completely unclear.
Recently, public tensions between Drake and US rapper Kendrick Lamar had worsened. Both had attacked and personally insulted each other in several songs over the weekend. It is still unclear whether the dispute has anything to do with the attack.
