In the new “Tatort: A Friend, a Good Friend” (November 13, the first), the Münster duo Prof. Karl-Friedrichs Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers, 58) and Commissioner Frank Thiel (Axel Prahl, 62) are once again on the hunt for criminals . This time they have to solve the murder of a lawyer. The focus of the story is also the couple Friedhelm and Veronika Fabian – Boerne has been friends with the two for ages. The successful lawyer and his wife want to emigrate to Central America. In the course of the film, however, it becomes clear that the two are involved in criminal activities. Proschat Madani (55) and Jan Georg Schütte (59) convincingly embody the couple, who are reminiscent of the criminal duo Bonnie and Clyde. But how do you know these two?
Jan Georg Schütte was born in Oldenburg in 1962 and trained as an actor in both Hamburg and New York. This was followed by various engagements in the theater scene – among others he was on stage at the Cologne Theater and the State Theater in Hanover. Born in Oldenburg, he has been seen regularly in front of the camera since the 1990s. He has played roles in popular TV series such as “Babylon Berlin”, “Jerks.” or “4 Blocks”. He can be seen regularly in crime formats such as “Kommissar Dupin” or “Tatort”. Most recently, he had a role in 2022 in “Tatort: Murot and the Law of Karma”.
In addition to his work as an actor, Schütte is also active as a director and author. In 2020 he took over the direction of the crossover crime thriller “Tatort: The Team”. In this episode, Frank Thiel’s colleague Nadeshda Krusenstern, alias Friederike Kempter (43), died in a serial death. Schütte is known for his productions without a fixed script – he relies on the improvisational talent of his actors and actresses. He also used this principle to design feature films such as “Altersglühen – Speed-Dating für Senioren” (2014), which was even awarded the Grimme Prize, or the comedy ” Klassentreffen” (2019).
Born in Iran, Proschat Madani was born in Tabriz in 1967 and moved to Vienna, Austria, at the age of four – where she still lives today. She has been active as a theater actress since the late 1980s, playing at the Tyrolean State Theater in Innsbruck and at the Volkstheater in Vienna, among others. But she later ventured into TV, too, working for Sat.1 for series such as “R.I.S. – The Language of the Dead” as the chemist Judith Karimi or in “The Last Bull” as the psychologist Tanja Haffner.
Since 2015 she has played a role in the Austrian production “Vorstadtweiber” and since 2019 she has been in the production “Walking on Sunshine”. In 2019 she was awarded the Romy – as the most popular actress in a series. In “Tatort” she had a role for the first time in 2009. For the “crime scene: family constellation” she was in front of the camera with Elyas M’Barek (40) and Kostja Ullmann (38). In 2013 the Viennese “Tatort: Between the Fronts” followed.
