Festive music should not be missing at Christmas. Musicians also know this and accompany their fans through the contemplative time with Christmas albums. The 2022 works have a colorful mix of newly written Christmas songs and new interpretations of real classics.

Sarah Connor (42) contributes an English-language Christmas album entitled “Not So Silent Night” (released November 18). The singer has collected a total of eleven self-written Christmas songs, including the euphoric single “Ring out the Bells” or the song “24th”, in which she commemorates the people she misses the most at Christmas. With the new songs, Connor, who recently released two German-language albums, wants to show “the many facets of the most beautiful time of the year”. She worked again with Rosie Danvers and her orchestra.

2022 The Kelly Family invites you to the “Christmas Party” (since November 4th). Listen to it: 16 songs as a colorful mix of new compositions and cover versions of popular Christmas classics. The band wants to give their fans “positive thoughts, strength, hope and courage in a special time”. The soulful track “Grateful” was created together with Irish musician colleague Ronan Keating (45). The fans can also get in the mood for contemplation live with some of the songs: The Kelly Family has been on their “Mega Christmas Tour” all over Germany since mid-November. Shortly before Christmas they can be seen in Erfurt (December 21), Hanover (December 22) and Magdeburg (December 23).

Andrea Bocelli (64) also makes his Christmas album a family affair: the world-famous tenor can be heard on “A Family Christmas” (released October 21) with his 24-year-old son Matteo and his ten-year-old daughter Virginia. The harmonious trio has released an album together for the first time, and it is even Virginia’s first recording. Written and arranged for the album, the single “The Greatest Gift” tells of the peace and love of the holiday season. New renditions of traditional Christmas carols include “Away in a Manger” and “Joy To The World”. “Our album is a small, private and heartfelt gift to all those who want to enjoy the sound of Christmas at Bocelli,” the family said.

They finally made their dream come true: The Backstreet Boys released their first Christmas album “A Very Backstreet Christmas” in mid-October. “The desire to make our own Christmas album has been with us for almost 30 years now – and so we are incredibly happy that the time has finally come,” commented band member Howie Dorough (49) on the publication. Various new interpretations of timeless classics such as “White Christmas”, “Silent Night” or “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” can be heard on the record. The three new Christmas titles “Christmas In New York”, “Together” and “Happy Days” complete the varied work.

However, they are old hands when it comes to releasing Christmas albums. The sixth Christmas album by the US acapella group Pentatonix entitled “Holidays Around The World” was released on October 28th and impresses above all with international guest stars: the work includes the American pop artist Meghan Trainor (28), the Chinese World star pianist Lang Lang (40) and Indian TV personality Shreya Ghoshal (38). The album comes with a Christmas special, Pentatonix: Around the World for the Holidays, available on Disney.
