The mud fight in the house of Spears goes into the next round. And the teams are clearly set up: on one side are Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari, on the other ex-husband Kevin Federline – and by extension their sons Jayden James and Sean Preston.
Because instead of shielding them from the cameras, Kevin Federline has apparently allowed the two to express themselves in a documentary that will be broadcast over the weekend. The two have been the focus of attention since Federline publicly said the teenagers had no need to see their famous mother and then published video clips in which Britney raised the two with sharp words.
The younger of the Spears sons, Jayden, tells documentary filmmaker Daphne Barak that there is “no hate” between them and their mother. “I 100 percent believe this can be fixed. It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to be better mentally. When she’s better, I really want to see her again.” says the 15-year-old. “I love you very much, I hope the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down and talk to each other again,” he said to his mother.
And the teen explains why he and his brother didn’t go to Britney’s wedding to Sam Asghari. “It just wasn’t the right time for it at the time. I don’t want to say that I’m not happy for them,” he says in the documentary. “I’m really happy for her but she didn’t invite the whole family and if it was just me and Preston then I don’t see how this situation would have ended on good terms.”
Jayden James also has an opinion about his grandfather, Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears. “At first he was just trying to be like any other dad and let her pursue the dream of becoming a superstar, but I think maybe the guardianship lasted too long,” he says. “Which is probably why my mum was very angry about the whole situation, that she was working too late. And I personally think she did too. She should have taken a break and relaxed.”
The teenager didn’t always sound like that. As late as March 2020, he described his grandfather as an “asshole” in a comment on social networks. And Kevin Federline obtained a restraining order against his former father-in-law in 2019.
It wasn’t long before Britney Spears herself commented on her son’s statements. On Instagram she published a longer note in which she mainly shoots her ex-husband.
Her love for her sons “knows no bounds,” she writes in it. “I helped your father who hasn’t had a job in 15 years,” she said. Federline, his wife and their children are reportedly living off the alimony Britney Spears is paying him. Spears also writes that Federline smokes weed every day, which the two teenagers would probably enjoy. “It’s awful to see how hypocritical your father is by saying the media is awful and at the same time letting you talk to them about personal matters,” she says.
The documentary, which also includes a tour of the Federlines’ home, will be broadcast on ITV next weekend.
