Fitness influencer Pamela Reif is criticized – again. She posted a portrait photo of herself on Instagram, in which she looks almost shyly into the camera, she wears her long blond hair open, her hooded jacket has slipped down her shoulders. A red flowering bush can be seen in the background.
Under the picture she writes: “It’s not about never making mistakes. It’s about life giving you a safe place even if you do.” With that, Reif alludes to the shit storm she received for a video on TikTok.
On TikTok, she posted a video of herself trying out a beauty filter with heavy makeup. But she didn’t like the result at all, she said it made her look like “a tranny”.
Several followers then accused her of transphobia, Reif had to delete the video and apologize. But her followers don’t seem to believe her remorse.
Under the post there are some comments that say exactly that: “Please don’t let it revolve around you that you made a mistake. That’s always the case and is rightly criticized a lot,” writes a follower.
She is also accused of not taking the apology seriously: “I get the impression that you are innocent now to keep making money here. Not because you are serious.” Reif sells various snacks under her own label.
Many agree that such a statement should not have happened to such a well-known influencer with 9.1 million followers on Instagram alone. After all, she is a role model for many and with her statement she “robbed many people of their safe space”.
In order to credibly assure her fans of her remorse, Pamela Reif has now organized an Instagram live event in which she wants to talk to the well-known transsexual Youtuber Jolina Mennen about the topic. It remains to be seen whether the Reifs fans will be convinced.
