“Saturday Night” was a comedy show that had never existed before in the TV Republic of Germany. Broadcast just before midnight, from 1993 to 1998 on RTL. Esther Schweins and Wigald Boning were part of the ensemble for the entire 146 episodes. Up to six million viewers, Grimme Prize and Bambi. Sketch series like “Two Chairs – One Opinion” or “Kentucky Screams to Fuck” were acted out in schoolyards on Mondays. “Saturday Night” is now returning as a three-hour show-gala hybrid.
Schweins, 52, and Boning, 55, are done with the photo shoot when they throw themselves at old newspaper articles that Stern has brought with them.
