A successful investor, a famous film star and a young actress: What does everyday life look like for “Die Höhle der Löwen” star Carsten Maschmeyer (63), his wife Veronica Ferres (57) and Lilly Krug (21)? “It’s fun with the three of us,” enthuses the entrepreneur in an interview with spot on news at Airmotion Media’s “MediaWorks After 5” networking event in Munich on Wednesday evening.

Although he never wanted to be a public figure himself, the colorful press is everyday life for him today. The bigger professional is his wife Veronica, with whom he has been happily married since 2014. “She’s so professional, she has no airs and graces at all. I’m more the diva of the two of us,” he clarifies. “I’m more complicated when we have to go somewhere. I need my tuxedo, I have phone calls, I’m usually late,” says Maschmeyer.

He is therefore always happy to accept tips from his loved ones, also as part of his own TV appearances such as “The Lion’s Den”. Ferres has visited him on the set several times and encouraged him to be “more relaxed and as humorous as on the sofa or at the breakfast table”. After all, he has now replaced a suit and tie with jeans and sneakers.

Maschmeyer is certain that Ferres will not be seen as a guest lion in the VOX start-up show, despite her professional appearance. His wife just can’t handle numbers. “She doesn’t know when we got married, she doesn’t know how old I am. You can give her three financial numbers, an hour later she asks if that was the temperature,” he said with a smile at the event in front of around 100 media professionals .

Maschmeyer is also following his stepdaughter’s upcoming acting career diligently and intensively, as he further reveals to spot on news: “Lilly is hardly there anymore because she studies in America and shoots her films. She shot with Casey Affleck in Vancouver, with Gerard Butler in Puerto Rico, with Michael Shannon in Mississippi, with John Malkovich in Montana – so I’m really paying attention.”

The entrepreneur appreciates the time with his family more than ever. In his book “The Six Elements of Success” (2021), he openly described his years of addiction to sleeping pills, which went hand in hand with depression and burnout. Today he knows how important a balance between work and private life is. “This week is a bit tight again, but Friday night is over and then it’s off to California.” There he will spend Easter with his wife, who is already there for a Hollywood project, and daughter Lilly. “And then Easter is really free, I’ll turn off my smartphone!”
