Numerous well-known musicians such as superstar Harry Styles (29) or rapper Drake (36) have been attacked by the audience during their performances in recent weeks and months. This worrying trend continued yesterday (July 29) at a Las Vegas show by rapper Cardi B, 30.
Clips of the incident shared on social media show an unidentified person in the audience pouring their drink towards the musician who was performing. She appears surprised and shocked for a brief moment, but then throws her microphone at full force in the direction of the person in the audience. Security personnel then intervene and remove the suspected troublemaker.
Attacks on musicians who are currently on stage have repeatedly made negative headlines in recent times. For example, Harry Styles was hit in the face by an object during his show in Vienna earlier this month. Rapper Drake caught a smartphone in his hand. Pop singer Bebe Rexha (33) was also hit in the face by a thrown mobile phone. The wound even had to be sewn up.
Some superstars have also publicly spoken out on the subject. For example, pop star Adele (35) explained at one of her concerts in Las Vegas in early July: “Have you noticed that people are forgetting the damn show etiquette at the moment? People just throw crap on stage, have you seen that?” The singer warned her fans, “Don’t you dare. Dare to throw anything at me and I’ll fucking kill you.”
