Before the release of the second part of the Netflix documentary about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, a new trailer is causing a stir. It alleges that the British royal family has repeatedly passed negative stories about Meghan to the press to distract from headlines about other royals.

“A story about someone in the family popped up for a minute and they sort of made that go away,” the Duchess says in the roughly one-minute video. A woman described by Netflix as Meghan’s friend described the American as a “scapegoat for the palace” who was sacrificed to prevent other negative stories.

The documentary’s first three episodes had garnered a lot of attention in the UK, although they fell far short of the couple’s expected hit. The kingdom is now anxiously waiting for “Volume II”, as Netflix called the last three episodes, which will be released on Thursday.

It is widely believed that there will be no return to the Royal Family for Harry and Meghan after the documentary. In any case, they had already resigned their honorary titles and patronages when they gave up their royal duties. But they were considered members of the family’s inner circle. Many commentators in Great Britain no longer see a chance for this.
