Fans of the hit Netflix series “Bridgerton” are eagerly awaiting the third season. But apparently the viewers have to do without a popular character in the new episodes. Phoebe Dynevor (27) aka Daphne Bridgerton is apparently not supposed to appear in season three. The actress hinted as much in an interview with Screen Rant at the Sundance Film Festival.
Dynevor dropped the bombshell when asked if there would be any “exciting dynamics for Daphne” in the upcoming season. “Unfortunately not in season three. Possibly in the future,” said the 27-year-old. “But as a viewer, I’m just excited for season three.” The industry portal “Deadline” is said to have learned from sources that Dynevor is said to have fulfilled its contractual obligations. Netflix has not yet commented on this. It also remains open whether Daphne might make an appearance again in later seasons.
The first season of “Bridgerton” was about the love story between Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset – played by Regé-Jean Page (34). Dynevor only appeared in a few episodes in season two, but Page left the show after season one. The second season revolved around her brother Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey, 34) search for a suitable wife.
The third season of “Bridgerton” will focus in particular on the love life of Lady Whistledown or Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 36) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 29), as the actress announced in May 2022 via Instagram. Production began in the summer of 2022. It is not yet clear when Netflix will show the new season.
