Fans of tennis legend Boris Becker (55) are eagerly awaiting “Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker”. The two-part documentary series about Becker’s career and private life celebrated its world premiere at this year’s Berlinale. Now the streaming service Apple TV has also revealed the start date of the Becker documentary: On Friday, April 7th, “Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker” will be released worldwide on Apple TV.
On the one hand, the documentary series sheds light on Becker’s successful career, who won Wimbledon at the age of just 17 and has won 49 titles, including six Grand Slams and an Olympic gold medal. In addition, it is also about Becker’s “sometimes turbulent private life”, as stated in the Apple TV press release.
Director and Oscar winner Alex Gibney (69) had special access to Becker for more than three years, who gave him several personal interviews, including one during the week of his sentencing. In addition, the documentary shows interviews with close family members and tennis stars such as John McEnroe (64), Björn Borg (66), Novak Djokovic (35), Mats Wilander (58) and Michael Stich (54).
