After 25 years together, Blur frontman Damon Albarn (55) and artist Suzi Winstanley (55) are going their separate ways in the future. This is reported by the British “Daily Mirror”. Winstanley and Albarn had been a couple since 1998 but never tied the knot. Daughter Missy Albarn (23), named after hip-hop star Missy Elliott (52), saw the light of day in October 1999. The newspaper did not provide any information on the reasons for the separation.
“Suzi’s heart is broken because of the end of the relationship,” an unnamed source told the British newspaper. The Blur singer’s ex-partner is said to be “devastated” and has urged Albarn to move out of their home in Notting Hill, London.
Albarn is in the midst of a comeback with his iconic group Blur. After an eight-year band break, the new album “The Ballad of Darren” was released on July 21 – and promptly made it to the top of the British charts. According to the “Daily Mirror”, Albarn is supposed to process the breakup with Winstanley on the new Blur album. Music is “cheaper than therapy” for him, he explained in an interview just this month.
