The Central Court of Administrative Litigation No. 7 has authorized, by order dated May 26, the blocking of access to the website ‘https://flipax2.net’ for dedicating itself to pirating books, newspapers and magazines.

This judicial decision has been possible after the request of the Spanish Center for Reprographic Rights (Cedro) before the 2nd Section of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Culture and Sports to act against a page that allowed unauthorized access to more than 1,500 titles of books and almost 1,700 headers of periodical publications.

In this sense, the general director of Cedro, Jorge Corrales, has said: «We continue with our fight against digital piracy trying to stop illegal practices like this one.

It is always good news that one of the pirate sites that we pursue daily with our anti-piracy team is authorized to block.”

Following Cedro’s request, the 2nd Section of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Culture and Sports began the procedure to safeguard the intellectual property rights possibly violated, on March 29, 2022, and which culminated in the judicial resolution ordering the interruption of the information society service carried out by the reported page and its blocking.

Jorge Corrales stressed that “these illegal practices directly affect the authors and publishers of books, magazines and scores,” and Cedro’s goal “is for the network to be a safe place for authors and publishers.”

The judicial resolution, which is not yet final, obliges Spanish internet access providers to block access to any web domain that the person in charge could use or that redirects to that page, as well as all those proxy websites that serve as intermediaries. to access the previous one.
