Something is happening in Beverly Hills! It has long been known that Eddie Murphy (61) will slip into his legendary role of police officer Axel Foley for the fourth time. In the new part “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley” the actor also has well-known colleagues at his side. As the streaming giant Netflix has now announced in a statement, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (41) and Taylour Paige (31) will be seen in the new strip.
The fourth part of “Beverly Hills Cop” is currently in production, according to Netflix. Further details about the plot are not yet known. Mark Molloy is directing and Will Beall is writing the script. Eddie Murphy is producing alongside Jerry Bruckheimer (78) and Chad Oman (57).
The sequel moved from Paramount to Netflix in the winter of 2019. In 1984 the first part was released in cinemas with “Beverly Hills Cop – I’ll definitely solve the case”. The film was a box office hit and cemented Murphy’s movie star status. Two sequels followed in 1987 and 1994. It was not until 2019 that it was clear that there would be a fourth part. Since then, the project has been very quiet.
Eddie Murphy recently shot a late sequel to one of his 80s cult films with “The Prince of Zamunda 2” for Amazon Prime Video. The sequel was released on March 5, 2021 by the streaming provider.
