Last summer, superstars Jennifer Lopez (53) and Ben Affleck (50) tied the knot for the first time after their second engagement. In a new interview with US magazine The Hollywood Reporter, J.Lo’s husband is full of praise for his wife. “Oh my god, she’s brilliant,” blurted out Affleck, who elsewhere described his second wife as “a genius” in relation to the social media app Instagram.

Among other things, Affleck reveals in the new interview that J.Lo advised him not to be “so serious” anymore. “Relax, be yourself. Have fun!” She gave him, because in truth he was a “real and unaffected guy”. But due to previous negative experiences with the media, Affleck added self-critically that he had become “very reserved” in his public appearance.

“Do I seem serious?” the actor-director asks rhetorically in the interview, before adding, “But like so many things, [Jennifer Lopez] is right […]. She’s trying to help me, so maybe I fucking should listen to them”.

Apart from that, his wife Lopez gave him invaluable tips for his new film project “Air” about NBA superstar Michael Jordan (60) and his legendary Nike sneakers, Affleck reveals in an interview. “She has an incredible knowledge of the way fashion evolves through culture as a confluence of music, sports, entertainment and dance,” says the star. This in turn helped him to understand the actual cultural significance of the Jordan sneakers and to incorporate this into his directing work, which will start in German cinemas on April 6th.

Affleck was also addressed in the interview about an episode that had recently occurred in his very public life: At the beginning of February, numerous memes and video excerpts circulated online and on social networks, showing a supposedly grumpy or sad Affleck at this year’s Grammy Awards showed.

According to Affleck, however, this did not correspond to the facts at all. “I had a good time at the Grammys,” affirms the star. In a particularly famous moment, he also did not know that the TV camera was just catching him, which could explain his extremely listless facial expression.
