Uzo Aduba (42, “Orange Is the New Black”) is pregnant. The award-winning US actress is expecting her first child with her husband, filmmaker Robert Sweeting. She announced this at the 2023 Tony Awards on Sunday. During her red carpet appearance at the United Palace Theater in New York City, Aduba unbuttoned her orange Christian Siriano suit jacket to reveal her midsection. Aduba combined jewelry by David Webb, shoes by Alexandre Birman and a clutch by Judith Leiber with the bright outfit.
She also commented on the sweet news on Instagram. Regarding a clip showing her wearing a baby romper, Uzo Aduba wrote: “What a blessing. My husband Robert and I are so happy to start this next chapter together as parents. I’m over the moon. I’m going to be someone’s mom ! I know our one, only goal will be to love you, little one, as the three of us continue to grow. Oh my goodness. Look what God has done.”
In September 2021, a source confirmed to People magazine that the actress and Sweeting secretly married in 2020. The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in New York. This month, the actress opened up about her marriage for the first time in an Instagram post, citing “Harry and Sally” (1989).
“For some of us it can feel like we spend our entire lives waiting for our special someone. My heart, my love – I’m so lucky that my life started with you last year. You are best thing that ever happened to me,” she wrote.
