The American musician Beyoncé (41) goes into the upcoming Grammy awards ceremony in early February with the most chances of winning. Beyoncé has been nominated nine times, the organizers of the Recording Academy said. Beyoncé and her husband, the rapper Jay-Z (52), have each received a total of 88 Grammy nominations in their careers – more than any other music star, the organizers said.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar has eight nominations for the 2023 gala, and singers Adele and Brandi Carlile have seven each. Stars like Mary J. Blige, DJ Khaled, Future and Harry Styles follow in the places. Stars such as Olivia Rodrigo and John Legend announced the nominations at an hour-long event. There are nominations in more than 90 categories – from general categories like “Album of the Year” to rock, rap, country or classical.

Germans are also among the nominees. For example, the Berlin-born musician Christoph Franke has been nominated as Classical Producer of the Year, and the list also includes violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Berlin Philharmonic.

The Grammys are scheduled to be presented for the 65th time on February 5, 2023 in Los Angeles. Around 13,000 members of the Recording Academy decide on the winners of the Grammys, which are among the most coveted music awards in the world.

Musician Jon Batiste, singer Olivia Rodrigo and duo Silk Sonic won the Grammys this year. The gala was moderated by comedian Trevor Noah.
