Arnold Schwarzenegger (76) has to take a short break from training. According to TMZ, the Hollywood star and bodybuilder underwent arm surgery last week. He is said to have suffered from nerve damage in his elbow. The celebrity news site shows a video of the “Terminator” star walking across a parking lot to his office in Los Angeles, his right arm thickly bandaged. He also wore knee-length compression stockings.
The elbow surgery appeared to have gone smoothly. Things were different during a heart operation in 2018. In a recent video, Schwarzenegger reported on his difficult recovery after this procedure. It was actually a minimally invasive operation a few months before filming of “Terminator 6” began.
But something went wrong during the operation. Doctors accidentally stabbed Schwarzenegger’s heart wall. They had to wake the “Fubar” actor from the anesthesia and inform him that they now had to start an emergency open heart operation.
After the life-saving procedure, Schwarzenegger had to quickly adapt to the new situation. His goal was to leave the hospital as quickly as possible so that he could be fit for “Terminator 6” in time. In the video, the actor showed pictures of him “waddling” around the hospital on a walker to train.
Arnold Schwarzenegger underwent heart surgery for the first time in 1997. He had an aortic valve inserted to correct a congenital heart defect. Further interventions followed in 2018 and 2020. In 2006, the former governor of California broke his femur while skiing and he also has a new hip.
