While his wife Camilla (75) is still recovering from her corona infection, King Charles III. (74) continued his royal duties. Last Friday, the British monarch hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to support global biodiversity measures, according to a post on the royal family’s official Instagram account.

Several photos show Charles together with ministers, CEOs and representatives of the indigenous people. One gesture really made the king smile: the leader of an indigenous tribe from the Amazon rainforest presented Charles with a self-made necklace with a colorful pendant. The monarch even let it hang around his neck.

Charles is currently having to complete his royal appointments without his wife. A few days ago, the palace announced that Camilla had tested positive for Corona after struggling with cold symptoms. However, according to Hello! magazine, Charles recently gave the all-clear during a performance in Milton Keynes. Camilla is “getting better and better,” he is said to have said to a visitor during his tour.
