Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas (62) has revealed that he would suggest his colleague Tom Holland (26) for the role of Zorro. “I did ‘Uncharted’ with him and he’s so energetic and funny and he has that spark too,” Banderas told ComicBook of a possible remake of the films. “Why not?”

Should there be a new “Zorro”, Banderas would want to return as the hero and ceremonially hand over the mask to Holland. That’s what Anthony Hopkins (84) did in 1998 in “The Mask of Zorro”. Don Diego de la Vega (Hopkins) handed over the responsibility of protecting the poor and vulnerable to Banderas’ Alejandro Murrieta. He’s already offered that. “I said, ‘Well, if they call me to do Zorro, I’d do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first film, which is pass the torch to someone else.'”

In the video game adaptation “Uncharted”, Banderas and Holland still faced each other as opponents. As the clever thief Nathan Drake, Holland is looking for the multi-billion dollar treasure of explorer Ferdinand Magellan, Banderas wants to forestall him as the unscrupulous Moncada. The “Spider-Man” star seems to have convinced the Hollywood veteran.

Holland had also prepared well for the role of Nathan Drake. He revealed to radio station SiriusXM that he attended bartending school and worked as a bartender for a while. The Hollywood star mixed drinks in a hotel bar in London because his character does that in the beginning of the film. Banderas might have been impressed by that, too.

Banderas revealed that he has already spoken to star director Quentin Tarantino (59) about a possible return to the mask. Specifically, he discussed a possible crossover between Zorro and Django with the “Kill Bill” maker. Jamie Foxx (54) played the character Django in Tarantino’s film “Django Unchained”.

Tarantino just approached him. “And I said, ‘In your hands? Yeah, man!’ Because Quentin just has a way of making films like this and bringing quality to them,” Banderas said. The director can even create something “really interesting” based on B movies from the 1960s and 1970s. “We’ve never worked together before but it would be great because of him, because of Jamie Foxx and because of the opportunity to play Zoro again when he’s a little bit older. It would be amazing and fun and crazy,” enthused the 62-year-old.
