US actress Annie Wersching (1977-2023) died at the age of 45 as a result of cancer. She was known for her roles as the Borg Queen in “Star Trek: Picard”, “24”, “Bosch”, “Timeless” and as a voice actor for the PlayStation classic “The Last of Us”, which has since become an HBO film of the same name series emerged. As “Deadline” further reports, Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, which her spokesman also confirmed.

The actress’ husband, Stephen Full, told the industry magazine: “There is a big hole in our family’s soul today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found miracles in the simplest of moments. She didn’t need music, to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And we will find it.”

Wersching and Full have been married since 2009 and have three sons (born 2010, 2013, 2018). Full’s statement continued, “As I drove our boys, the true love of their lives, down the winding driveway and road, she yelled ‘Bye!’ until we were out of earshot. I can still hear it. Bye bye darling . I love you little family.”

Annie Wersching was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1977 and began her film and television career with appearances in films such as “Bruce Almighty” (2003) and series such as “Star Trek: Enterprise” (2002), “Charmed” (2004 ) and Supernatural (2007), before eventually landing a recurring role as Renee Walker on 24 (2009-2010).

Her “Timeless” colleague Abigail Spencer (41) shared a beautiful but heartbreaking post about her friend on Instagram. “My dear Annie Wersching. Best co-star. My nemesis on ‘Timeless’ who we could hardly be serious about. This is a devastating loss to our community. She was the backbone of many of your favorite shows and ours. The Wrestler. When you meet someone needed a kick in the butt or spiced up a storyline or if you needed a lifeline call Annie it’s so hard… Steve…no words I’m sending you and the boys loads of love and support. “

Neil Druckmann (44), co-president of Naughty Dog – the game developer behind “The Last of Us” – wrote on Twitter. “I just found out that my dear friend Annie Wersching passed away,” he wrote. “We have just lost a wonderful artist and human being. My heart is devastated. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”

At the end of his tribute, Druckmann shared a link to a GoFundMe page set up to support Wersching’s family. Describing the fundraiser from organizer Ever Carradine, Wersching was a “private person” by nature and her cancer diagnosis in the summer of 2020 reinforced this. The purpose of the fundraiser, the description reads, is to help Full care for her children – Freddie, Ozzie and Archie, 4 – and “mourn without the pressure of working.”

“She wanted to protect her boys. She wanted to get well so she could keep working. And frankly, she just didn’t want to talk about it. She wanted to live her life on her own terms and be with her family,” the statement said Description of the fundraiser.
