The former Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (49) and his wife Julia have become parents. As the “Bild” newspaper reports, the couple allegedly had a daughter named Cecilia on the night of November 24th. “Mother and child are doing well, we are overjoyed,” Scheuer confirmed to the daily newspaper.
“Yes, we are expecting offspring in the fall. We are very happy,” the CSU politician told “Bild” in June. It is the 49-year-old’s second child. Andreas Scheuer also has another daughter from his second marriage.
The former CSU General Secretary said yes to his current wife Julia Reuss a little over two years ago. “Yes, we got married,” he confirmed to “Bunte” in August 2021. He continued: “We are very happy and look forward to our future together.” The celebration should have taken place in 2020, but according to the report it was postponed due to the corona pandemic. This is Scheuer’s third marriage.
The couple has known each other since 2007, as Reuss also told the magazine in the summer of 2022. In the first few years they “hardly noticed” each other. He always knew “that Julia was a great woman, but we were both in other relationships,” he explained. “In 2019 we were both single and had failed marriages behind us. We went out to dinner, had great conversations, then things really clicked.”
Scheuer, who was born in 1974 in Passau, Bavaria, has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2002. From the beginning of 2018 to the end of 2021 he was also Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
