Amber Heard (37) has paid the million US dollars she promised to settle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp (60). This is reported by the “TMZ” portal. The money will go to various charities.

The actors separated in 2016 after 15 months of marriage and then made serious allegations against each other. Both filed defamation lawsuits. A public trial in the United States began in April last year. They settled the dispute in December 2022 with a settlement. Heard agreed to pay $1 million. Depp’s lawyers had already announced at the time that the money should be donated. As “TMZ” now wants to know, Amber’s insurance company is said to have paid the sum.

Accordingly, the money will be “divided evenly among five different organizations” that are particularly important to Depp. These are: Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society and the Amazonia Fund Alliance. Depp Painted Turtle and Tetiaroa Society were chosen as a tribute to two heroes in Depp’s life – respective founders Paul Newman (1925-2008) and Marlon Brando (1924-2004). He made a short film with the Make-A-Film foundation, which grants children wishes. Red Feather and Amazonia help indigenous communities preserve their culture through shelter and infrastructure projects.

After the mud fight in court, both stars are currently trying to start over. Johnny Depp made his comeback at the Cannes Film Festival. His ex-wife will present her new film “The Fire” at the Taormina Film Fest in Sicily at the end of the month. She has recently been photographed more frequently in Spain, where she is now said to live near Madrid with her daughter Oonagh Paige (2).

The stars got married in February 2015 and were initially considered a dream couple in Hollywood. Then, in May 2016, Heard filed for divorce. After the separation, there was already a war of roses, but the ex-couple agreed, at least temporarily. In 2018, the “Sun” then raised allegations against Depp, and Heard also described himself in the “Washington Post” as a survivor of domestic violence, without naming Depp. Depp then went to court against these two articles. He was awarded more than $10 million in damages in the 2022 US defamation lawsuit, while Heard received $2 million in a counterclaim. In December 2022, the ex-couple then made a comparison.
