Adriana Lima (42) can obviously understand the fuss surrounding her recent appearance on the red carpet: In an interview with “Harper’s Bazaar Arabia”, the model speaks about negative comments on photos from the premiere of “The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” in Los Angeles.
Regarding comments that she looked very different, she explained in the interview: “That didn’t bother me at all.” She’s very strong in that way, “and honestly, I looked at myself before I went out and I felt great. I was with my kids and they looked at me and said, ‘Mom! You look like that beautiful!'”
But while she wasn’t “bothered” by the negative comments that followed her appearance, she told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia that she was “shocked” when she saw the photos of herself on the red carpet. “I thought, ‘That’s not me,'” the model recalls. “Everything was strange because I don’t see myself that way. I still don’t see myself that way… you can see yourself differently.” She continued: “I wasn’t offended or anything though – I laughed,” she continued. “The point is, I’m not 16 years old. I started modeling when I was 16, but I’ll never be 16 again. I’m 42 and the happiest I’ve ever been; happiest with myself. I’m embracing my age and I won’t change for anyone.”
