Koo Stark (66), once girlfriend of British Prince Andrew, receives damages from the publisher of the British newspaper “Daily Mail” for disparagement. Solicitor Gemma McNeil-Walsh apologized in court on behalf of publisher Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) to Stark, who had been involved with Andrew in the early 1980s.
“The Defendant accepts that the allegations made against the Plaintiff were not and are not true and is pleased to set this matter straight,” said McNeil-Walsh. The Daily Mail also printed an apology on Friday. Judge Rowena Collins Rice said, “Miss Stark has the right to consider herself fully rehabilitated and to be so considered.”
In November 2019, the “Mail” described Stark in an article about Andrew as a “porn star” and printed a photo of her from the film “The Awakening of Emily”. Stark’s attorney, Francis Leonard, said the actress has never acted in a pornographic film. “Emily” from 1976 is a coming-of-age drama.
