Singer and actress Dagmar Manzel relaxes while playing with her grandchildren. “Recently, my grandchildren were with me for a week. We played role-playing games all day – that was absolute relaxation,” said the 64-year-old of the German Press Agency. “I just sat there and thought, ‘What a great imagination you have and what an amazing ability to play multiple roles at the same time.’
She herself – who has already staged Pippi Longstocking at the Komische Oper with children – did not have to give her grandchildren any further instructions. “I’m a particularly happy grandmother,” said the native of Berlin.
Manzel celebrates her 65th birthday on September 1st. “I’m retiring next year and will have more time for myself and my grandchildren, for example to go on vacation with them for six weeks.” Manzel mainly acts in theatre, but also takes on roles in film and television.
